On Monday, September 4, 2017, he lost his battle with cancer. He is survived by nine children, 24 grandchildren, seven brothers and two sisters. On Tuesday, September 12, 2017, viewing will be held at 9 a.m., until time of funeral at 11 a.m. (family will arrive at 10 a.m.), at Gethsemane Baptist Church, 5119 4th Street, NW. Interment Arlington National Cemetery at a later date
