1947-06-08 2010-10-09YULETTA McDONALD -MITCHELL Of Silver Spring, MD died suddenly on Saturday, October 9, 2010 at the age of 63. She was the loving daughter of Willie James and Lillie Thorpe McDonald of Washington, DC; devoted mother of Anthony Mitchell (Brenda); grandmother of Krista and Kara; sister of Faye McDonald Smith (George), Vernon McDonald, and Kenneth McDonald; and a host of relatives and friends. Family hour and visitation will be on Thursday, October 14 at 10 a.m., followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m., St. Gabriel''s Catholic Church, 26 Grant Circle, NW, Washington, DC 20011.

Darnell (Nelly) Williams, Class of '76

Coach Leonard Farello

Coach Farello was the Calvin Coolidge Assistant Basketball Coach under the late Coach Frank R. Williams for many years until Coach William’s passing, at which time he became the Head Basketball Coach and served in that capacity for a number of years. He also served for many years as Coolidge's Head Baseball Coach. Coach Farello was scheduled to receive this year’s Calvin Coolidge Alumni Association Inc's Founders Award. He will be honored posthumously at this year's CCAA, Inc. 25th Silver Anniversary Scholarship / Benefit Awards Breakfast on Saturday October 8, 2011.

Joseph Barber, class of \'76

We are saddened to inform you of the recent passing of Mr. Joseph E. Barber, class of 1976on Monday, September 19, 2011 at his home. Joe Barber was born in Washington on March 5, 1958. He graduated from Coolidge High School in 1976 and attended the University of the District of Columbia.
Joe parlayed an omnivorous appetite for movies and the Washington arts scene into a career as an entertainment critic for local broadcasting and print outlets. For several years, he was a producer for Derek McGinty’s public affairs show on WAMU and reviewed arts and film for the program. He also was a regular on “The Tony Kornheiser Show” and other radio programs.

Pyhllis Campbell, class of '68 (Mitchell)

Phyllis graduated from Calvin Coolidge in 1968. Shortly after graduation she married her high school sweetheart Charles Mitchell, and to this union two children were born, Tammi and Sharmba. She later married Cary Campbell, lovingly known as ‘P-Pop’.
She leaves to mourn: Two children, Tammi Ramsey (Damon II) of Upper Marlboro, MD, Sharmba Mitchell (Kim) of Baltimore, MD; Mother, Leatryce Anderson; Brother, Thomas Anderson III (Ann), nine grandchildren, and a host of family, friends, neighbors, and co-workers.
A memorial service was held on January 4, 2012 at Fishermen of Men Church 3641 Georgia Ave NW, Washington, DC
